Sr. Software Engineer (Vehicle Engineering)

What you'll do

• Design and train highly reliable, scalable AI/ML models for SpaceX engineering.
• Develop agentic AI systems to perform complex engineering tasks efficiently.
• Build large-scale ML training pipelines for next-generation AI applications.
• Fine-tune foundation models (LLMs, vision models) for high-impact use cases.
• Create production-grade AI tools for data analysis and automated decision-making.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years experience in AI software engineering with focus on model training and fine-tuning
• Expert understanding of LLM transformer architectures, including pre-training and supervised fine tuning
• Proven track record training large language models (LLMs) and other foundation models at scale
• Deep expertise with modern ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX
• Experience designing and running large-scale ML training pipelines on GPU clusters
• Strong foundation in statistics, machine learning theory, deep learning architectures, optimization algorithms
