What you'll do

  • Design, build, and operate infrastructure and tooling to ensure system resilience and disaster recovery.
  • Execute chaos engineering experiments to proactively identify and remediate system weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain automated backup and restore processes for critical systems and data.
  • Plan and execute incident game days to validate system resilience and team preparedness.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices and production operations.
  • Define and track reliability metrics, including SLOs and recovery time objectives (RTO/RPO).

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field of study.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience operating distributed applications as part of a Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or SRE team.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, IaaS, PaaS solutions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting using Python, Java, Bash, or Go.
  • Experience with chaos engineering tools, disaster recovery solutions, and backup/restore tooling for distributed systems.
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
