What you'll do

  • Deliver complete solutions across all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, and operations.
  • Design, build, and operate infrastructure and tooling for disaster recovery and business continuity.
  • Execute chaos engineering experiments to proactively identify and remediate system weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain backup and restore systems for critical data and services.
  • Build and maintain automation tools to manage infrastructure and application configuration as code.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide them on technical best practices and development standards.
  • Define and track resilience metrics, service level objectives (SLOs), and recovery time objectives.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field of study.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience operating distributed applications as part of a Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and/or SRE team.
  • Extensive hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting infrastructure for global-scale services using AWS.
  • Hands-on programming and scripting skills in Python, Java, Bash, or Go.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with chaos engineering tools and frameworks such as AWS Fault Injection Simulator, Gremlin, Chaos Monkey, or Litmus.
  • Experience designing disaster recovery solutions, managing backup/restore tooling, and executing incident simulations.
