What you'll do

  • Design and operate infrastructure to ensure system resilience and recovery from failure scenarios.
  • Execute chaos engineering experiments to proactively identify and remediate system weaknesses.
  • Build and maintain disaster recovery automation, runbooks, and backup systems across the cloud environment.
  • Develop tools and automation to manage infrastructure and application configuration as code.
  • Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures for production issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices and development standards.
  • Define and track resilience metrics, SLOs, and recovery time objectives for owned systems.
  • Communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required.
  • Candidates must have 8+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development or a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience operating distributed applications as part of a Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or SRE team is required.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, IaaS, and PaaS solutions is required.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting using Python, Java, Bash, or Go is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration is required.
  • Experience with chaos engineering tools, disaster recovery solutions, and backup/restore tooling is required.
