As a Sr. Software Dev Engineer, Antenna System Validation, Amazon Leo, you will join the team to collaborate with systems architects and hardware engineering design teams to bring up and test complex systems. You will work on integrating FPGA, firmware, RF, and networking functions while building advanced tools for characterizing antenna subsystems, managing complex data storage, and performing hardware test automation. Your daily responsibilities include firmware design and implementation, application development, and creating design automation for 2D and 3D structures. Additionally, you will develop bring up tools and scripts specifically for phased array systems. The role requires expertise in software programming languages, system architecture, and the full software development life cycle. This position focuses on the technical challenges of antenna systems within a low Earth orbit satellite network to provide reliable internet connectivity.
Characterize subsystems and systems related to antennas.
Develop hardware test automation tools and scripts.
Design and implement firmware for antenna systems.
Build advanced software applications for system operations.
Create bring up tools and scripts specifically for phased array systems.
Develop automation for 2D and 3D structures.
Manage complex data storage solutions for the satellite network.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted refugee/asylum status for export control compliance.
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
5+ years of full software development life cycle experience including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
Master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
