JOB TITLE: Sr. RFIC Layout Designer (Starshield Silicon) As a Sr. RFIC Layout Designer on the Starshield team, you will join the IC design team to support advanced development programs for national security. You will lead the layout discipline at a technical level, collaborating with RFIC and mixed-signal designers on full chip layouts for custom analog and RFIC designs. Your daily responsibilities include determining chip floor plans, estimating schedules, and performing layout for custom blocks while minimizing parasitic capacitance. You will execute design rule checking, top-level integration, and final tape-outs. Required skills include experience with advanced node IC layouts like 7nm or 5nm, frequencies up to 50GHz, and sensitive RF blocks. You should possess proficiency in Linux, Python, Perl, and shell scripting to solve complex integration and power distribution problems for space and ground infrastructures.

What you'll do

Determine chip floor plans including power and ground distribution and pad locations.
Estimate layout schedules and identify complex areas requiring early investigation.
Perform layout of custom RF and analog circuit blocks while minimizing parasitic capacitance.
Execute design rule checking, electrical rule checking, and layout versus schematic checks.
Perform top-level layout integration and perform final tape out for the foundry.
Trial new tools and features in collaboration with EDA suppliers.
Generate guides and demos to showcase improvements in layout techniques.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering or 8+ years of professional experience with integrated circuit layout design.
5+ years of professional experience as an IC layout designer.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently on challenging problems.
Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary to support critical milestones.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
Strong analog layout skills (preferred).
Experience in advanced node IC layouts such as 16nm, 7nm, 5nm or below (preferred).
Experience with shell scripting, Perl, Python, skill programming, or managing revision control systems (preferred).
