The Sr. RF Engineer (Starlink) joins the team responsible for the world’s largest satellite constellation providing global broadband internet. In this role, you will fully own phased array, Wi-Fi, and other RF systems for customer-facing hardware, as well as advanced parabolic antenna systems for regional gateways and ground stations. You will design, fabricate, and characterize prototypes of antennas, feed systems, and RF front ends while creating electromagnetic simulation models for hardware like filters and PCB layouts. Key responsibilities include developing design validation and production test solutions for high-volume consumer products. You will utilize Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB to write automation software. Required expertise includes experience with spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and vector signal generators to solve complex communication and link budget challenges.

What you'll do

Design, fabricate, and characterize prototypes for antennas, feed systems, and RF front ends.
Create electromagnetic simulation models for hardware including antennas, filters, and PCB layouts.
Design, implement, and verify small router antennas, phased arrays, and reflector antenna systems.
Develop and test phased array alignment solutions for satellite and ground systems.
Create design validation and production test solutions for high-volume consumer products.
Write Python automation software to interact with units under test and test equipment.
Own all phased array, Wi-Fi, and other RF systems for customer-facing hardware.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
5+ years of professional RF experience with antennas or communication systems.
5+ years of professional experience with radio test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and vector signal analyzers.
5+ years of professional programming experience in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB.
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering with emphasis in RF/antenna engineering (preferred).
Experience designing wireless communications systems and understanding of link budgets (preferred).
Experience characterizing radio performance at microwave frequencies (preferred).
