As an RF Software Engineer (Starlink), you will join a multidisciplinary team of RF, DSP, software, and hardware engineers to design and build RF capabilities for proliferated communications and remote sensing in low earth orbit. Your daily responsibilities include driving program-level decisions on RF system designs, researching novel solutions for large-scale satellite systems, and creating electromagnetic simulation models. You will design, build, and automate modular RF test infrastructure and sequences to support design validation and production. The role requires proficiency in Python and C/C++, along with experience using spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, and network analyzers. You will solve complex problems involving active and passive RF devices, including filters, amplifiers, and mixers, while ensuring seamless interaction between software and hardware components.
Drive program-level decisions regarding RF system designs.
Research novel solutions for large-scale satellite RF systems.
Design, build, and validate RF test benches using standard lab equipment.
Develop modular RF test infrastructure and automation sequences in Python and C++.
Create electromagnetic simulation models of hardware to evaluate performance.
Validate RF systems in coordination with hardware, FPGA, DSP, and software teams.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
1+ years of professional development experience in C/C++ or Python.
1+ years of professional experience with radio test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, and network analyzers.
1+ years of professional RF experience with antennas or communication systems.
Master's degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline (preferred).
Experience with testing active and passive RF devices such as filters, amplifiers, mixers, and upconverters/downconverters (preferred).
Experience with common RF concepts such as gain, linearity, P1dB, ACLR, EVM, PAE, S-parameters, and input/output matching (preferred).
U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for Department of State authorization.
