As a Sr. Antenna Engineer (Starlink), you will join the team responsible for the world’s largest satellite constellation to provide global broadband internet. You will have full ownership of phased array, Wi-Fi, and other RF systems for customer-facing hardware, as well as advanced parabolic antenna systems for regional gateways. Your daily work involves designing, fabricating, and characterizing prototypes of antennas, feed systems, and RF front ends. You will create electromagnetic simulation models for hardware, including filters and PCB layouts, and develop production test solutions. Key technical requirements include proficiency with spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, and network analyzers, alongside programming experience in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB. You will collaborate across electrical, mechanical, and software teams to solve complex communication and link budget challenges.
Design, fabricate, and characterize prototypes of antennas, feed systems, and RF front ends.
Create electromagnetic simulation models for hardware including antennas, filters, and PCB layouts.
Design and verify small router antennas, phased arrays, and reflector antenna systems.
Develop and test phased array alignment solutions for hardware systems.
Create and test production test solutions for high-volume consumer products and gateway antennas.
Write Python automation software to interact with units under test and instrumentation.
Own all phased array, Wi-Fi, and RF systems for customer-facing hardware and gateways.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other engineering discipline.
5+ years of professional experience with antennas or communication systems.
5+ years of professional experience with radio test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, and network analyzers.
5+ years of professional programming experience in Python, C#, C++, or MATLAB.
Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering with emphasis in RF/antenna engineering (preferred).
Experience designing wireless communications systems (preferred).
Experience with basic principles of antenna theory (preferred).
U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
