Senior Principal Architect Engineer Software, Storage

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and test enhancements to Control APIs and services using Go on Kubernetes and GCP.
• Build scalable systems for telemetry shaping, cost control, and real-time usage insights.
• Develop features for rule evaluation, policy enforcement, and advanced performance optimizations.
• Partner with Product and Design teams to create intuitive customer-facing experiences for managing telemetry costs.
• Manage the operational quality of production workloads through instrumentation, alerting, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Integrate Control decisions into the broader ingestion, query, and storage ecosystem across multiple internal teams.
• Own projects from inception to delivery by gathering requirements and executing with operational maturity.

What we're looking for

• Proven track record of building high-quality, scalable systems and performance-sensitive services in production.
• Proficiency in a systems language such as Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust.
• Ability to independently own projects from inception to delivery including planning, requirements gathering, and execution.
• Experience with Go on Kubernetes and GCP for designing and implementing APIs and services.
• Strong collaboration skills to work across product, design, infrastructure, and developer experience teams.
• Commitment to operational quality including instrumentation, alerting, debugging, incident response, and performance tuning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on customer value and reliability.
