Senior Principal Architect Software Engineer, Storage

What you'll do

• Design, implement, and test enhancements to Control APIs and services using Go on Kubernetes and GCP.
• Build scalable systems for telemetry shaping, cost control, and ingest policies.
• Develop customer-facing experiences to help users understand telemetry cost drivers and take action.
• Own operational quality through instrumentation, alerting, debugging, and performance tuning for production workloads.
• Integrate Control decisions into the broader ingestion, query, and storage ecosystem.
• Manage high-cardinality data and enforce usage policies across organizations.
• Own projects from inception to delivery by gathering requirements and executing with operational maturity.

What we're looking for

• Proven track record of building high-quality, scalable systems and performance-sensitive services in production.
• Strong fluency in a systems language such as Go, C++, Java, C#, or Rust.
• Ability to independently own projects from inception to delivery, including planning, requirement gathering, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Experience designing, implementing, and testing enhancements to APIs and services using Go on Kubernetes or GCP.
• Ability to own operational quality, including instrumentation, alerting, debugging, incident response, and performance tuning.
• Curiosity and motivation to learn deep, complex domains.
• Flexible and collaborative working style to support a high-trust team environment.
• Ability to work in a remote, hybrid, and geographically distributed team.
