Senior Principal Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Advise on and lead the strategy for multiple products, applications, and technologies across a portfolio.
• Create novel code solutions and drive the development of new production capabilities across teams.
• Set operating standards for agentic AI-enabled engineering to improve delivery speed, reliability, and code quality.
• Build and operate 24x7, tier-1 online services in a secure and scalable manner.
• Develop durable, reusable software frameworks that are utilized across multiple teams and functions.
• Translate complex technical issues and trends into actionable insights for leadership to drive innovation.
• Implement advanced technical methods and product development methodologies within specialized fields.
• Define guardrails for AI validation, security, resiliency, and reuse across the organization.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 7+ years of applied experience.
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Rust, Java, Go, or C++.
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proven track record building and operating 24x7, tier-1 online services.
• Extensive practical cloud native experience.
• Demonstrated experience designing and scaling agentic AI-enabled development patterns with appropriate governance and security controls.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including security, resiliency, and risk-based governance at scale.
• Familiarity with open-source projects in the OLAP/data stack such as Apache DataFusion, DuckDB, or Apache Arrow Flight SQL (preferred).
