What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Build and operate 24x7, tier-1 online services that are secure, stable, and scalable.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through key decision-making.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
Serve as a subject matter expert on firmwide frameworks, tools, and Software Development Life Cycle practices.
Coach engineers on the compliant and responsible use of AI tools within engineering workflows.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Strong core engineering skills including hands-on coding and system design for modern enterprise systems.
Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Rust, Java, Go, or C++.
Proven track record building and operating 24x7, tier-1 online services.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Familiarity with open-source projects in the OLAP/data stack: Apache DataFusion, DuckDB, and Apache Arrow Flight SQL (preferred).
