Senior Network Support Engineer

What you'll do

• Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues including connectivity problems, performance degradation, and security concerns.
• Support the deployment, monitoring, and testing of new network infrastructure like satellites and gateway sites.
• Monitor and investigate network performance to ensure maximum efficiency and operational uptime.
• Build tools, develop best practices, and refine procedures to improve network operations.
• Manage severity 2 and 3 tickets while participating in on-call rotations.
• Lead and mentor other Network Support Engineers on diagnosis and operating procedures.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• 6+ years of technical support experience.
• 6+ years of network engineering experience for large-scale networks, including diagnosing network impacting issues.
• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills.
• Knowledge of internet fundamentals and cloud computing concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent, or advanced networking and troubleshooting experience (preferred).
• 4+ years of experience with satellite-based telecommunication networking (preferred).
• Hands-on experience with satellite software defined networking technologies, packet forwarding architectures, and connectivity issues (preferred).
