The Sr. Modem Power Engineer joins the Modem Software Engineering team to design, implement, verify, and commercialize wireless WAN and data connectivity software solutions. Design and implement modem stack software, firmware, and hardware features for 5G NR, LTE, and 6G standards.
Analyze and optimize systems for power and thermal characteristics while meeting specific performance KPIs.
Integrate and test system-level features across modem capabilities and design comprehensive test content.
Debug power optimization issues to ensure system stability and balance performance requirements.
Prototype algorithms and designs to serve as proof of concept for modem power optimization features.
Apply AI/ML techniques and LLM-based tools to improve power analysis and automate debugging processes.
Triage technical issues, raise bug tracking tickets, and drive closure to meet product requirements.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or Embedded Software experience.
Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or Embedded Software experience.
PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Advanced understanding of digital communications, RF propagation, and telecommunications concepts (preferred).
Exposure to 5G NR, LTE, and interest in emerging 6G technologies (preferred).
Familiarity with data protocols (e.g., IP, TCP) through coursework or projects (preferred).
Basic programming ability in Python or similar languages (preferred).
Familiarity with real-time operating systems, multi-threaded processor architectures, and commercial wireless test equipment (preferred).
