Senior Microwave Hardware Design Engineer

What you'll do

• Decompose system-level requirements into realizable hardware specifications for Ka and V band radio systems.
• Design, develop, and optimize high-performance microwave components including LNAs, SSPAs, and frequency converters.
• Simulate RF circuits, perform schematic capture, and oversee PCB layout processes.
• Build test benches and conduct lab evaluations to verify that designs meet all requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis on technical problems, products, and manufacturing processes.
• Characterize new technologies, prototypes, and RF components for space applications.
• Define DVT, qualification, and production test requirements in coordination with the production team.
• Troubleshoot and repair circuits and fixtures during the prototyping and debugging phases.

What we're looking for

• Candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or granted asylum/refugee status for export control compliance.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in RF/Microwave design is required.
• Master's degree or PhD and 10 years of industry experience in RF/microwave circuits or communication theory are preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in RF/microwave hardware design for components like power amps, LNAs, and mixers up to 50 GHz.
• Experience with RF and EM simulation software including ADS, HFSS, and AWR Microwave Office.
• Proficiency with RF measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and vector signal generators.
• Expertise in analog, digital, and mixed-mode circuit design and layout.
• In-depth knowledge of radio architectures and experience with Ka/V band hardware for space applications.
