As the Sr Mgr Product Software Engineering within the Content Platforms team, you will lead multiple teams of developers to build and advance Disney’s media supply chain. You will be responsible for the technical direction of acquisition and distribution systems used globally, while managing project delivery, budget planning, and vendor contracts. Your daily work involves mentoring engineers, participating in code reviews, making architectural decisions, and facilitating collaboration between product, design, and marketing teams. The role requires expertise in building complex platform applications at scale, delivering services in cloud environments using open-source technologies, and navigating agile methodologies. You will solve technical challenges related to media management systems and distribution operations. Key skills include experience with AWS, asset management systems, and deep knowledge of software architecture to support the global distribution and monetization of linear networks and theatrical content.
Lead and direct software engineering teams responsible for global acquisition and distribution systems.
Manage the technical development of media management systems and supply chain infrastructure.
Oversee CapEx projects, including budget planning, estimation, and vendor contract management.
Manage the operations, performance, and results of multiple distributed engineering teams.
Make high-pressure architectural decisions and provide guidance on technical best practices.
Mentor and grow the careers of managers and senior engineers within the organization.
Review and approve software architecture and development plans for complex new features.
Participate in recruitment and hiring to build out the engineering team.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience demonstrating expert level understanding of software development and architecture.
10+ years of experience building complex platform applications at scale or other relevant experience.
Experience delivering platform services in cloud environments using open-source technologies.
Ability to make decisions regarding technical best practices and team operational processes.
Strong communication and writing skills with a passion for leadership and cross-functional relationship building.
Good understanding of agile software development methodologies.
Experience building multiple concurrent projects of high technical complexity.
5+ years of experience leading teams of software engineers building complex applications at scale (preferred); Media Industry experience; Familiarity with Asset Management Systems or DMAM concepts; AWS experience (preferred).
