Senior Materials Engineer, AI Satellites

What you'll do

• Develop high-reliability microelectronics packages, cooling systems, and radiator hardware for satellites.
• Own the full lifecycle of materials specification, validation, device modeling, and failure analysis.
• Drive system trades, requirements capture, materials selection, and prototyping for hardware components.
• Build and manage supply chains for plating chemicals, coatings, and thermal interface materials.
• Develop next-generation thermal interface materials to improve advanced packaging performance.
• Specify in-process metrology tools and design thermal test vehicles to evaluate material properties.
• Integrate simulation tools with experimental data to drive targeted material or process improvements.
• Manage compliance risks related to materials and processes to ensure safety and environmental standards.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in materials science, mechanical engineering, or another engineering discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in microelectronics device research or manufacturing.
• Advanced degree in materials science or a similar field (preferred).
• Experience in hardware, robotics, automation, or manufacturing environments (preferred).
• Experience designing tooling, fixtures, or jigs for assembly or test applications (preferred).
• Exposure to scripting or data analysis tools like Python or MATLAB for process data analysis or automation (preferred).
• Experience with precision assemblies, robotic systems, or automated pick-and-place equipment (preferred).
• U.S. citizenship, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee status as required by ITAR.
