Key responsibilities include architecting and scaling environments for AI training and inference, managing hybrid and multi-cloud compute via Kubernetes, and overseeing distributed block/object storage and data streaming platforms like Cassandra, FoundationDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Kafka. The role focuses on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, including automated fault recovery, telemetry, and capacity planning. Candidates must possess expertise in cloud-native infrastructure, high-performance networking, and large-scale capital investment strategy to solve complex challenges in cluster design, scheduling, and interconnect performance across global networks.

What you'll do

  • Define and execute the long-term technical vision and capital investment strategy for global compute, storage, network, and AI infrastructure.
  • Architect and optimize large-scale environments for AI training and inference, including cluster design and capacity planning.
  • Oversee hybrid and multi-cloud compute environments across Kubernetes platforms and bare-metal footprints.
  • Manage distributed data systems including block/object storage and managed database platforms like Cassandra and Kafka.
  • Ensure reliable global traffic management, load balancing, and security compliance across all infrastructure environments.
  • Cultivate a mature Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) culture focused on high availability and automated fault recovery.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-tiered, globally distributed organization of engineers and managers.
  • Drive a culture of technical ownership by automating manual processes and establishing rigorous operational standards.

What we're looking for

  • MS Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 12+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience building and operating mission-critical infrastructure platforms and global services.
  • 6+ years of experience managing multi-layered engineering organizations as a manager-of-managers across global sites.
  • Mastery of cloud-native infrastructure, Kubernetes platform engineering, and hybrid cloud operations including AWS and GCP.
  • Experience running large-scale systems for AI/ML training and inference workloads with optimized scheduling and high-performance storage.
  • Deep background in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, telemetry, observability, and 24/7 high-availability infrastructure.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical trade-offs to executive stakeholders while leading detailed discussions with principal engineers.
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise infrastructure for a tier-1 technology organization (preferred); familiarity with diverse data ecosystems (preferred); experience in financial and capacity governance (preferred).
