As a Sr. Manager, Capacity Engineering, you will lead the Capacity Engineering team to ensure cloud infrastructure remains reliable, efficient, and financially accountable. You will establish the functional and technical strategy for the portfolio, covering forecasting, supply, capacity-management systems, compute and GPU efficiency, and infrastructure data governance. Your daily responsibilities include developing CPU and GPU forecasts, designing allocation policies, improving utilization across Kubernetes-based shared compute platforms, and managing team structure and headcount. You will collaborate with SRE, Finance, and product teams to make critical investment decisions while utilizing AI tools to accelerate analysis and workflows. The role requires expertise in public-cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and resource-management systems to solve complex problems regarding capacity risk, infrastructure cost, and system health within a large-scale cloud environment.
Establish a 12–18 month functional and technical strategy for the Capacity Engineering team.
Develop CPU and GPU forecasts and supply plans based on demand, cost, and reliability requirements.
Design and deliver systems for capacity requests, reservations, entitlements, and allocation policies.
Improve utilization and efficiency across Kubernetes-based shared compute platforms and GPU infrastructure.
Establish metrics and operating practices for capacity risk, infrastructure cost, and system health.
Partner with cross-functional teams and cloud providers to make infrastructure investment decisions.
Manage team structure, recruit senior talent, and develop technical leaders within the organization.
Integrate AI tools to accelerate capacity analysis, forecasting, and repeatable team workflows.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience managing and developing teams that build or operate large-scale cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, compute platforms, or resource-management systems.
Experience defining 12–18 month functional and technical strategies tied to organizational goals and delivering results through senior technical leaders.
Technical experience in public-cloud infrastructure, highly available distributed systems, Kubernetes, or shared-compute platforms.
Experience leading cross-functional infrastructure programs and communicating availability, cost, and capacity tradeoffs to diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in day-to-day workflows for relevant outputs.
Strong track record of critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work, including testing, source-checking, and data validation.
High integrity and ownership regarding sensitive data protection and accountability for final decisions.
