What you'll do

Develop secure, high-quality production code using Java, AWS (ECS/EKS), and Postgres.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
Establish measurable validation standards for secure coding, peer reviews, and automated testing.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations processes.
Serve as a subject matter expert to advocate for firmwide frameworks and SDLC tools.
Utilize AI agents like CoPilot or Claude to improve code quality and delivery timelines.
Manage multi-region service deployments and ensure zero-downtime production environments.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Advanced programming skills in Java.
5+ years of experience developing and deploying Java applications in AWS, ECS, EKS, and Postgres.
Required experience with AWS Automation.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows including data sensitivity and security.
Experience with multi-region service deployments and zero downtime deployment.
Experience building dashboards using Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana; AWS Certification(s) (preferred); AI Certification(s) (preferred).
