What you'll do

  • Design and implement scalable application architecture and software engineering patterns for in-store digital signage.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Linux/Ubuntu-based systems, including OS configuration, networking, and application deployment.
  • Lead code reviews, design reviews, and debugging activities at the application level.
  • Troubleshoot complex audio/video signal flows and hardware issues across displays, switchers, and distribution equipment.
  • Integrate AV systems with IP networks by managing VLANs, DHCP/DNS, and routing.
  • Provide technical oversight and coaching to resolve complex technical issues and operational incidents.
  • Execute research and proof-of-concept activities for emerging technologies and maintain total product financials.
  • Develop automated preventative maintenance and troubleshooting tools to ensure infrastructure stability.

What we're looking for

  • Must have a 4-year degree or equivalent experience.
  • Must have 5+ years of software development experience using Linux/Ubuntu, Shell Scripting, Python, GoLang, or similar languages.
  • Must have working knowledge of automated software deployment and configuration management in a Linux ecosystem.
  • Must be able to design and implement scalable, high-performance, and secure software deliverables.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot complete audio/video signal flows and integrate AV systems with IP networks.
  • Must be able to provide advanced Linux/Ubuntu engineering support including OS configuration, drivers, and networking.
  • Must be able to lead code reviews, design reviews, and functional architecture discussions in an Agile environment.
  • Must be able to work in a Hybrid/Flex arrangement based at the Target HQ in Minnesota.
