The Sr. Director, Validation Test Engineering will lead the validation, characterization, and qualification capabilities for integrated data center platforms within the Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment. This hands-on technical leadership role involves defining validation strategies, test plans, acceptance criteria, and development lifecycle gates for advanced power, cooling, and control systems. The successful candidate will stand up and operate test labs to ensure reliability at the rack, pod, and data-center levels while building test data infrastructure for predictive maintenance models and digital twins. Key responsibilities include driving design verification, automated testing, and certification planning while partnering with manufacturing and quality teams on production readiness. Required expertise includes experience with electromechanical systems, DVT, root-cause analysis, and instrumentation. Candidates should possess a technical degree and extensive experience in reliability engineering for high-reliability hardware platforms and data center infrastructure.
Define validation strategies, test plans, standards, and acceptance criteria for power, cooling, and control systems.
Establish and manage characterization and qualification capabilities for integrated data center platforms.
Build and operate test labs to validate rack, pod, and platform-level performance and reliability.
Gate products through development lifecycle milestones from initial concept to production release.
Drive design verification, reliability testing, automated testing, and certification planning.
Develop test data infrastructure to support predictive maintenance models and digital twins.
Partner with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure product readiness and factory test alignment.
Engage directly with customers to define performance, interoperability, and qualification requirements for AI infrastructure.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
An advanced degree is preferred or equivalent experience.
12+ years of experience in validation, test engineering, systems engineering, product qualification, or reliability engineering.
Experience validating complex electromechanical systems, power systems, cooling systems, controls, data center infrastructure, or high-reliability hardware platforms.
Strong knowledge of DVT, reliability testing, test automation, instrumentation, data acquisition, certification testing, root-cause analysis, and development lifecycle gates.
Experience standing up lab capabilities, test infrastructure, or product development facilities.
Demonstrated ability to partner with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and customers to move products from prototype to production readiness.
Hands-on experience building test setups, instrumentation, and data pipelines rather than only overseeing them.
