Senior Director of Data Science Engineering

What you'll do

• Develop and implement strategic plans for the Data Science Engineering function to align with organizational objectives.
• Lead a team of machine learning engineers to design, build, and operationalize scalable AI/ML solutions.
• Establish and evolve MLOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, model deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Architect and oversee scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure for model training and inference on cloud platforms.
• Drive engineering best practices for code quality, automated testing, observability, and responsible AI principles.
• Partner with IT and data engineering teams to integrate AI/ML solutions into enterprise systems.
• Recruit, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the Data Science Engineering team.
• Oversee the function's budget and operations to ensure efficient resource allocation and ROI.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of experience in computer science or engineering, Master’s and 6 years, or Ph.D. and 4 years.
• 4 years of management or leadership experience.
• Proficiency in at least five and mastery in one of: software engineering, ML model development, MLOps, Python, generative AI, or healthcare.
• Experience independently delivering or leading machine learning engineering solutions for multiple complex projects.
• Experience overseeing annual budgets and conducting cost-benefit analyses to justify investments.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native ML services (preferred).
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (preferred).
• Experience with MLOps tooling, LLMOps, RAG architectures, and vector databases (preferred).
