Senior Data Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and develop complex, multi-tier cloud-native data solutions and integration services.
• Build and support scalable data pipelines for batch, near real-time, and API-based integrations.
• Implement metadata management, master data policies, and data quality standards within data workflows.
• Mentor and coordinate data engineering teams through design reviews, code reviews, and testing efforts.
• Partner with leadership to document technology roadmaps and cloud modernization initiatives.
• Establish coding standards, CI/CD practices, and automated testing to ensure engineering excellence.
• Develop monitoring and observability capabilities to improve pipeline performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with security and platform teams to deliver secure, reusable data products.

What we're looking for

• Must be a resident of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, SC, NC, CA, or VA.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of functional experience in data engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in coding languages like Python, Scala, Java, or SQL.
• Demonstrated experience using cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Demonstrated experience using modern data platforms like Azure Synapse, Databricks, Redshift, Big Query, or Snowflake.
• Demonstrated experience using ETL/ELT, SQL, and Azure Services including Data Factory, SQL, Cosmos DB, and Event Hubs.
• Demonstrated experience using SQL, data modeling, data warehousing, and designing enterprise-scale data lake or Lakehouse solutions.
• Experience using CI/CD systems such as Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Experience using Git, performing code reviews, and following branching standards like Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development.
• Knowledge of financial services industry concepts, regulations, and data domains (preferred).
• Experience building AI-ready data products and supporting AI agent architectures (preferred).
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or AI-assisted Azure OpenAI and related technologies (preferred).
• Previous experience in master data, metadata, data quality, and data governance tools (preferred).
• Experience in Test Driven Development concepts, methods, and tools (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in unit, integration, or performance/load testing (preferred).
• Proven ability to deliver highly scalable data solutions over the entire data lifecycle (preferred).
• Proven experience leading and collaborating within teams to deliver solutions through all aspects of the SDLC (preferred).
• Experience presenting in front of technically adept audiences (preferred).
