JOB TITLE: Sr Configuration Analyst/Manager, Mechanical Engineering, Configuration Management
The Sr Configuration Analyst/Manager, Mechanical Engineering, Configuration Management joins the Engineering Practice & Configuration Management team to manage configuration integrity for the Amazon Leo satellite constellation. This role involves performing comprehensive engineering change analysis across satellite subsystems, including the bus, payload, electrical engineering, phased array antenna, radio frequency, and structural components. You will maintain configuration baselines, establish data hierarchies, and lead the Change Control Board to ensure alignment with interface specifications, requirements, and production constraints. Key responsibilities include developing GD&T-compliant drawing packages and managing workflows within the LeoSpace Engineering Application Platform and Teamcenter. You will utilize tools such as NX, SAP, Smartsheet, Confluence, and JIRA to provide data-driven technical packages for leadership decisions regarding complex spacecraft systems and evolving product lines.
Manage and maintain the configuration management baseline for the entire satellite across multiple vehicle configurations.
Perform comprehensive impact analysis on engineering change proposals regarding technical design, requirements, schedule, cost, and production.
Establish and maintain data hierarchies and structures to ensure as-designed, as-built, and as-tested configurations are traceable in the PLM toolchain.
Lead the Change Control Board to manage analysis, dependencies, and deliverables for all engineering change categories.
Develop and present data-driven technical packages and GD&T-compliant drawing packages to leadership for change disposition.
Coordinate change analysis across multiple engineering functions including satellite bus, payload, electrical, and radio frequency subsystems.
Maintain engineering change notification logs and deliver executive-level reporting on change control health and metrics.
Own the definition and maintenance of business requirements and process documentation for Engineering Change Control.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field).
5+ years of experience in Configuration Management including Change Management in aerospace, satellite, or defense programs.
Demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering of spacecraft systems and experience performing impact analysis across satellite or aerospace systems.
Experience establishing data hierarchies and structures for aerospace systems with multiple evolving product lines.
Background in design of satellite systems, launch vehicles, or aerospace systems.
Expertise in GD&T and drawing technical data packages.
