JOB TITLE: Sr Applications Developer The Sr Applications Developer joins the CMD Illustrations team to develop and maintain desktop and web applications used by financial professionals to create life insurance illustrations. This role involves translating business requirements into reliable, maintainable code, building new and modifying existing life insurance and annuity products, and performing end-to-end development from design through deployment. Key responsibilities include analyzing technical designs, conducting peer code reviews, and identifying process improvements. The successful candidate will utilize .NET, VB.NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery UI, Bootstrap, and SQL to solve complex problems. The work requires interpreting actuarial formulas and business requirements to ensure accurate illustration outputs. What you'll do

Build and modify life insurance and annuity products within the Illustrations platform.
Write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code using .NET, C#, and SQL.
Analyze business requirements and actuarial formulas to establish development scope and effort estimates.
Perform unit testing, version control, and continuous integration to ensure software quality.
Conduct peer code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and provide technical feedback.
Identify technical gaps in work requests and propose process improvements to increase application speed.
Collaborate with actuaries and business partners to validate complex scenarios and case designs.
Communicate technical concepts and project risks clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in application development.
Strong proficiency in Excel, VB.NET, C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JQuery UI, Bootstrap, and SQL.
Ability to build and modify life insurance and annuity products using .NET and proprietary tools.
Experience performing unit testing, version control, and continuous integration.
Ability to analyze complex product specifications, including actuarial formulas and business requirements.
Previous knowledge with the life insurance and annuity industry (preferred).
3-5 years of experience working with life insurance and/or annuity products and riders (preferred).
