JOB TITLE: Sr. Application Software Engineer The Sr. Application Software Engineer joins the application software team to develop mission-critical applications that accelerate launch vehicle production and flight while supporting the growth of the Starlink network. You will own all aspects of software engineering and product development, building prototypes to prove design concepts and creating new applications to improve operations. This role involves designing and producing solutions for high-throughput manufacturing software, platforms for concurrent data streams from satellite assets, and public-facing systems. You will utilize Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, or Java, along with Angular, React, and PostgreSQL. Required skills include full-stack development, version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery. You will also work with Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka, and infrastructure tools like Terraform and Ansible.

What you'll do

  • Develop highly reliable software solutions used across SpaceX operations.
  • Create new applications to improve internal SpaceX operational processes.

  • Own all aspects of software engineering and product development.
  • Analyze user problems to design and create efficient technical solutions.
  • Participate in team collaborations on architecture, design, and code reviews.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline and 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 7+ years of professional experience building software in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in full stack development.
  • Programming experience in Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar object-oriented languages (preferred).
  • 1+ years of rigorous experience building single page web applications (preferred).
  • Experience with version control, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and software system design (preferred).
  • Experience with build systems, package management, UNIX-like operating systems, and infrastructure tools like Terraform or Ansible (preferred).
  • U.S. citizenship, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligibility to obtain required Department of State authorizations.
