What you'll do

  • Apply advanced AI and machine learning algorithms to solve complex problems involving biological, genomic, clinical, and healthcare data.
  • Lead the planning, design, implementation, and deployment of software solutions using state-of-the-art artificial intelligence techniques.
  • Define and prioritize requirements for ML-based solutions focused on bioinformatics, biostatistics, and data engineering applications.
  • Develop and execute an AI strategy to enhance internal bioinformatics and data science processes.
  • Establish Agile frameworks to deliver iterative solutions that demonstrate the potential of new AI technologies.
  • Create training resources and knowledge bases to educate the team on advanced machine learning best practices.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members while serving as a subject matter expert in cross-functional meetings.
  • Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio by developing innovative methods to improve current technical processes.

What we're looking for

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Master’s Degree in Statistics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field plus 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in statistics, computational biology, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 5+ years of experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms.
  • Mastery of advanced AI concepts including neural networks, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and large language models for generative AI.
  • Proficiency in Python and at least one machine learning framework such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or SKLearn.
  • 8+ years of life sciences industry experience with biological data (preferred); 8+ years of experience in molecular diagnostics (preferred).
