What you'll do

  • Develop algorithms to improve the sensitivity of germline variant calling.
  • Build bioinformatics pipeline prototypes to support germline sequencing.
  • Develop machine learning models for variant classification and clinical significance predictions.
  • Lead project planning, data analysis, and interpretation to determine next steps for R&D projects.
  • Act as a technical lead and subject matter expert in exploring new technologies for diagnostic assay products.
  • Establish methods and processes for product development within the Cancer Diagnostics division.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior scientists on project teams.

What we're looking for

  • Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant field plus 4 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 6 years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in bioinformatics within industry or academia.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the medical device, IVD, biotech, life science, or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Extensive experience in Linux-based HPC or cloud computing environments and associated tools.
  • Ability to write custom code in at least three programming or scripting languages.
  • Technical expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, next-generation sequencing (NGS), and genomics.
  • Working knowledge of statistical/mathematical methods in biology/genetics using software like JMP or R.
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the work is performed.
  • Experience with variant calling, NextFlow, AWS, machine learning, or clinical laboratory settings (preferred).
