JOB TITLE: Sr. AI Engineer - Forward Deployed Engineer Manager The Sr. AI Engineer - Forward Deployed Engineer Manager joins the Reinvention Centers team to lead and scale world-class AI/ML professional services on the Databricks Intelligence Platform. You will act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, designing and engineering enterprise-ready AI agents with retrieval, orchestration, and lifecycle observability. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting AI-native solutions, establishing Lakehouse data foundations, and deploying agentic workflows across finance, healthcare, and retail domains. You will utilize technologies including Mosaic AI, Vector Search, MLflow, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark. Required skills include Python, Java, and experience with LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen. You will also manage MLOps/LLMOps pipelines, integrating models from providers like Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI into robust, production-grade systems.

What you'll do

  • Design and engineer enterprise-ready AI agents including retrieval, orchestration, and lifecycle observability.
  • Architect AI-native solutions on the Databricks Intelligence Platform using Mosaic AI, Vector Search, and MLflow.
  • Establish Lakehouse data foundations using Delta Lake, DLT, and Unity Catalog for production AI.
  • Develop abstraction layers across multiple AI providers like Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI.
  • Deploy scalable AI-native systems using containerization, microservices, serverless, and event-driven architectures.
  • Conduct design workshops, proofs of concept, and code-with sessions with client stakeholders.
  • Operate MLOps and LLMOps pipelines with CI/CD across the entire model lifecycle.
  • Process large-scale distributed datasets using Apache Spark on the Databricks platform.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 10 years of experience on Databricks and large-scale big data projects including Delta Lake, DLT, Apache Spark, and Unity Catalog.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Python, Java, or equivalent programming languages.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience deploying and operating production systems with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and observability tooling.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience designing and shipping agentic AI solutions in production.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with agentic orchestration tools such as LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with AI platforms across OpenAI, Claude, Vertex AI, and open-source models.
  • Bachelor's degree required, or an Associate Degree with at least 6 years of work experience, or 12 years of work experience without a degree.
