As a Sr Advanced Systems Engineer within the Torpedo Systems Group, you will join a cross-functional team focused on developing torpedo guidance and controls solutions. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving system design weaknesses, creating technical engineering products throughout the development life cycle, and ensuring designs meet stakeholder needs and government requirements. Your daily work involves requirements analysis, definition, and management, alongside functional analysis, performance analysis, system architecture, and detailed trade studies. To succeed in this role, you should possess expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools. You will solve complex technical problems related to torpedo guidance and control systems while providing technical leadership to ensure all subsystems meet rigorous standards and interface definitions within a large government contracted development program.
Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses to ensure designs meet stakeholder needs and government requirements.
Develop comprehensive system documentation, development plans, and technical engineering products throughout the lifecycle.
Perform requirements analysis, definition, management, and functional and performance analysis for torpedo guidance systems.
Conduct detailed trade studies and validation of system, subsystem, or element interfaces.
Design and evaluate system architectures to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools to manage requirements and system modeling.
Provide technical leadership and influence the framework for future products across multiple systems.
What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required.
A Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related field and 8 years of experience, or a Master's degree and 6 years of experience.
Experience in requirements analysis, management, functional analysis, system architecture, and trade studies.
Demonstrated expertise in model-based systems engineering (MBSE) (preferred).
Expert knowledge of torpedo guidance and control systems or significant experience leading systems engineering for large government programs (preferred).
Proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools (preferred).
Strong communication skills and ability to provide technical leadership (preferred).
