Senior Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary systems engineering point of contact between process engineering and multidisciplinary development teams.
• Lead technical scoping and planning for new products, technology changes, and subsystem enhancements.
• Translate customer, product, safety, and business needs into clear system requirements and functional specifications.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, theory of operation, and interface definitions for process modules and cluster tools.
• Conduct architecture trade studies, gap analyses, and risk assessments to support technical decision-making.
• Generate critical engineering artifacts including P&IDs, device lists, signal lists, and software functional specifications.
• Perform system-level analysis such as wafer flow modeling, throughput analysis, and facilities definition.
• Lead safety and reliability activities including hazard analysis, interlock definition, and FMEA.

What we're looking for

• Minimum 8 years experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's; or a PhD with 3 years experience in a related technical field.
• Proven ability to integrate inputs from process, mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, facilities, and software teams for complex systems.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and maintain a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) to guide work products and verification planning.
• Strong systems thinking and leadership skills to translate ambiguous needs into structured requirements, interfaces, and architecture decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English to drive alignment across functions.
• Proficiency with standard engineering productivity tools and the ability to produce clear technical documentation.
• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, gas delivery, thermal systems, or thin film deposition (preferred).
• Knowledge of INCOSE practices, ISO/IEC/IEEE standards, Python, and AI-assisted engineering workflows (preferred).
