Senior Systems Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead technical scoping and systems engineering planning for new products and subsystem enhancements.
• Translate customer and process needs into clear system, controls, and software requirements.
• Develop and maintain system architecture, functional breakdowns, and interface definitions for cluster tools.
• Drive architecture trade studies, gap analysis, and risk analysis to support technical decisions.
• Generate key engineering work products including P&IDs, device lists, and signal lists.
• Lead safety and reliability activities such as hazard analysis, interlock definition, and FMEA.
• Define test, verification, and validation plans to ensure all requirements are fully met.
• Utilize Python and AI-assisted workflows to improve systems engineering methods and productivity.

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s; or a PhD with 3 years of experience.
• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, Software, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
• Proven ability to integrate inputs from process, mechanical, electrical, controls, manufacturing, facilities, and software teams for complex systems.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and maintain a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) to guide technical reviews and verification planning.
• Strong systems thinking and technical leadership skills to translate ambiguous needs into structured requirements and architecture decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to produce clear technical documentation in English.
• Experience with semiconductor capital equipment, vacuum systems, gas delivery, or thin film deposition (preferred).
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with modern engineering development environments like VS Code (preferred).
