The Software/Systems Engineering Intern (Summer 2027) joins the engineering team to help build software that controls and monitors mission-critical payload systems. Working alongside experienced engineers, the intern contributes to full-stack solutions including user-facing tools, backend services, data flows, and system integrations. Day-to-day responsibilities involve participating in the full product lifecycle, including design, development, integration, and testing of features from early concepts through deployment. Candidates should possess familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript. The role requires skills in web applications, APIs, embedded software, automated test tools, version control, Linux, cloud services, databases, and CI/CD practices. This position focuses on solving technical challenges involving hardware-software integrations, sensors, devices, and real-time data within high-reliability aerospace and defense industries.

What we're looking for
U.S. citizenship is required.
Must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Preference for a student standing of sophomore or higher.
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
Familiarity with at least one programming language, such as Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience building web applications, APIs, embedded software, or automated test tools through coursework, projects, clubs, or internships (preferred).
Familiarity with full-stack development tools, version control, Linux, cloud services, databases, or CI/CD practices (preferred).
Experience debugging hardware-software integrations or working with sensors, devices, or real-time data (preferred).
