The Software Image Quality Engineer, Creativity Apps joins the Creativity Apps team to support the production of innovative tools for creative professionals, video makers, and visual storytellers. This role involves planning, designing, maintaining, and executing test cases with minimal direction, specifically focusing on free testing without scripts. Key responsibilities include reporting bugs with outstanding isolation, managing priorities, and coordinating multi-functional test efforts. The position requires expertise in digital photography, video, exposure settings, white balance, depth-of-field, bokeh, sharpening, denoising, and HDR. Candidates must utilize skills in subjective and objective image quality evaluation, color science, and GenAI Repair tools. The role addresses technical challenges in computational photography and on-device machine learning, requiring the ability to parse large data sets and apply photographic best practices to optimize image and video quality.
Plan, design, maintain, and execute test cases with minimal direction.
Perform free testing without scripts or tools to identify software defects.
Report bugs using outstanding isolation and regression techniques.
Conduct subjective and objective image quality evaluations based on color science concepts.
Design and conduct experiments to optimize image and video quality parameters.
Test GenAI repair tools and use AI/LLMs for image and video quality evaluations.
Streamline processes for data collection and systematically parse large data sets.
Translate software feature descriptions and requirements into effective test plans.
What we're looking for
2+ years of proven experience as a professional photographer in a competitive industry.
Experience with digital photography and video, including deep understanding of exposure, white balance, depth-of-field, bokeh, sharpening, denoising, and HDR.
Strong background in subjective and objective image quality evaluation and color science concepts.
Demonstrated ability to design and conduct experiments to optimize image and video quality.
Proficiency in image editing software.
Experience in testing with GenAI Repair tools and using AI/LLMs for Image/Video Quality Evaluations.
Familiarity with computational photography and machine learning concepts.
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent of 4+ years of relevant experience.
