Software Engineers II / Senior Software Engineers (Commerce Platforms) join the Commerce Platforms organization to build and operate scalable, resilient, and AI-powered commerce and financial platforms. In this role, you will design, build, and operate modern cloud-native applications, distributed services, and large-scale data systems. You will develop end-to-end experiences, reusable platform services, and reliable batch and streaming pipelines. Key responsibilities include translating complex requirements into technical designs, modernizing platforms for observability and security, and improving live-site health through telemetry and automation. You will utilize C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, Azure services, REST APIs, Scala, and Python. The work involves solving complex data workflows, implementing Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation, and agentic workflows within procurement, sourcing, and enterprise purchasing domains.
Design, build, test, deploy, and operate scalable cloud-native applications and distributed services.
Develop end-to-end experiences using C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, and Azure services.
Build reusable data processing frameworks, data models, and metrics to support analytical requirements.
Create intelligent experiences using Generative AI, RAG, AI agents, and workflow orchestration.
Translate complex requirements into high-quality technical designs and architecture proposals.
Modernize platforms to improve scalability, security, observability, and developer productivity.
Improve live-site health through monitoring, telemetry, troubleshooting, and incident response.
Use Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines to maintain high engineering standards and automated testing.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages and frameworks such as C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, ReactJS, Scala, Python, and Rest APIs.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
Experience with cloud-native data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Azure Data Lake (preferred).
Experience with Azure DevOps, including source control, build and release pipelines, and CI/CD practices (preferred).
Experience with SQL, data modeling, and large-scale data processing using technologies such as Apache Spark or Delta Lake (preferred).
Experience building LLM-enabled applications, RAG solutions, AI agents, or agentic workflows (preferred).
Experience building enterprise applications or platforms that support complex workflows and API integrations (preferred).
