The Software Engineering Technical Leader joins the Common Hardware Group's QUAD team to support Hyperscale network and Enterprise Data Center switches based on the Cisco Silicon One ASIC. In this role, you will develop diagnostic test suites for switches on Linux servers using embedded software development skills. Your daily responsibilities include performing new hardware system bring-up, developing board support packages for ASIC bring-up running SONiC, and collaborating with multi-functional teams to resolve complicated hardware issues. You will also support manufacturing test teams with failure analysis to improve product yield. Required technical skills include C/C++ and Python programming within Linux environments, hardware-level programming, device driver development, and experience with microcontrollers and peripherals such as I2C, PCIe, SPI, and MDIO. You must also understand Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols.

What you'll do

Develop diagnostic test suites for Cisco switches on Linux servers using embedded software skills.
Execute new hardware system bring-up procedures for Hyperscale and Enterprise Data Center switches.
Develop board support packages (BSP) for ASIC bring-up and running SONiC.
Troubleshoot and debug complicated hardware issues in coordination with ASIC, hardware, and vendor teams.
Perform failure analysis to support the manufacturing test team in improving product yield.
Optimize manufacturing test times through technical analysis and diagnostic improvements.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 12+ years of professional experience.
Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 8+ years of professional experience.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience developing software using C/C++ and/or Python within a Linux environment.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware-level programming and device driver development.
Experience with Linux hardware bring-up and system integration.
Experience working with microcontrollers and embedded peripherals including I2C, PCIe, SPI, and MDIO.
Linux kernel device driver development experience (preferred).
Understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP (preferred).
