Software Engineering Technical Leader

What you'll do

• Design and build secure, scalable infrastructure and developer platforms with security controls embedded by default.
• Harden internal systems including Kubernetes control planes, GitOps pipelines, and CI/CD workflows.
• Implement Zero Trust architecture through workload identity, micro-segmentation, and continuous verification.
• Manage the security posture of critical services such as secrets management, PKI, and IAM governance.
• Automate security and compliance tasks using policy-as-code to reduce manual toil and accelerate remediation.
• Lead cross-team incident response and conduct blameless post-mortems to implement permanent technical fixes.
• Integrate security signals into SRE observability stacks to detect threats as quickly as system outages.
• Advise engineering leadership on the trade-offs between security, development velocity, and system reliability.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree plus 12 years experience, Master's plus 8 years, or PhD plus 5 years of related experience.
• 5+ years of production experience operating and scaling at least one major cloud provider including advanced IAM, KMS, and network controls.
• 3+ years building production automation and tooling in Python and/or Go for security use cases like vulnerability management and secrets orchestration.
• 5+ years applying SRE practices including defining SLIs/SLOs, managing error budgets, and leading incident response as an incident commander.
• 5+ years applying security fundamentals such as threat modeling, secure-by-default architecture, and certificate lifecycle management in production.
• Hands-on production Kubernetes security (preferred).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform), GitOps delivery, and CI/CD security gates (preferred).
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or AWS Certified Security - Specialty (preferred).
