As a Software Engineering PMTS on the Distributed Data Services team, you will build and maintain critical backend infrastructure that ensures Slack remains performant, reliable, and scalable for large enterprise customers. What you'll do

Design, build, ship, and maintain edge caching services that handle a significant portion of Slack's API traffic.
Triage bugs and resolve complex production issues across the full technology stack.
Write code to automate maintenance tasks and reduce the need for manual intervention.
Develop solutions to improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of distributed systems.
Participate in an on-call rotation to triage and address critical production incidents.
Author and review technical design proposals and documentation for infrastructure improvements.
Perform peer code reviews and provide feedback on engineering designs.

What we're looking for

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent training/experience.
6+ years of professional experience building large-scale systems.
Experience managing critical production infrastructure and maintaining reliability and uptime.
Experience with reliable, safe distributed systems and understanding engineering and product trade-offs.
Proficiency in writing unit tests, performing code reviews, and creating design documentation.
Experience developing and operating web applications professionally.
US Citizen or Green Card holder.
Experience with Go, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or FedRAMP/NIST frameworks (preferred).
