What you'll do

Lead the technical design and delivery of complex full-stack capabilities using Java, Spring Boot, and React/Angular.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Implement event-driven patterns using Kafka, focusing on idempotency, retries, ordering, and error handling.
Establish engineering standards for test strategies, automation, CI/CD quality gates, and observability.
Own production excellence by managing incident reduction, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning.
Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across multiple squads and partner teams.
Design resilient, highly available architectures that meet cyber security and technology control requirements.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Deep expertise in Java 8+, Spring Boot, microservices, and React/Angular.
Strong experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture patterns like retries, idempotency, and DLQs.
Experience with SQL databases including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
Strong NoSQL experience with Cassandra, DynamoDB, or Elastic Search for data modeling and scale.
Experience with Cloud Foundry/AWS and CI/CD strategy and execution.
Demonstrated leadership in design reviews, mentoring, and cross-team technical alignment.
Experience with tools such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Grafana for observability and monitoring.
Experience building resilient, highly available architectures with a focus on failure modes and operational readiness.
Working knowledge of secure engineering practices and designing to meet Cyber Security and Technology Control requirements.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and coaching on responsible AI use.
Cross-team delivery leadership, PCI experience, and AWS certification (preferred).
