What you'll do

Design and build large-scale distributed systems that are high RPS and latency sensitive.
Develop and maintain core components of the traffic stack, including Envoy Data Plane and xDS control planes.
Troubleshoot, debug, and fix production issues to maintain established service level agreements (SLAs).
Manage ingress systems that handle external traffic entering the DoorDash platform.
Improve team productivity and operational capabilities through automation and AI tools.
Participate in a shared on-call rotation and lead investigations for production incidents.

What we're looking for

You must have 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in infrastructure, networking, or platform engineering.
Experience with programming languages such as Go, C++, Python, or Rust is required.
Experience with AWS and Kubernetes is required.
You must have a background working on and debugging high-QPS or latency-sensitive systems.
Proficiency in using AI coding tools throughout the full software development lifecycle is required.
Experience with service mesh technologies such as Envoy, Istio, or Linkerd (preferred).
Familiarity with xDS or control plane architectures (preferred).
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTP/2, gRPC, and Load Balancing (preferred).
