Software Engineer Sys 3 joins the Global Products Group to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for etch and deposition products. Working within a centralized software engineering team, the role involves implementing new customer requirements, maintaining existing codebases, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers. The position requires ensuring seamless hardware compatibility and integration across the entire product portfolio. Candidates must possess knowledge of Object-Oriented Software, Object-Oriented Design, and Object-Oriented Programming, including Design Patterns and Finite State Machines. Technical requirements include multithreading with preemptive thread scheduling and communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART. Preferred skills include experience with distributed embedded controls systems and proficiency in general purpose programming languages like C++ or C# to solve complex semiconductor equipment challenges.
Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for new products and enhancements.

What we're looking for
Hold a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, a Master’s with 3+ years, a PhD, or equivalent experience.
Possess knowledge of Object-Oriented Software (OOS), Object Oriented Design (OOD), or Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) including Design Patterns and Finite State Machines.
Possess knowledge of multithreading, including preemptive thread scheduling.
Possess knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
