As a Software Engineer Sys 3 within the Global Products Group, you will join a centralized team focused on the design and engineering of etch and deposition products for the semiconductor industry. You will be responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs to support infrastructure, technology platforms, and new product enhancements. Your daily work involves implementing customer requirements into existing applications, maintaining codebases, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers while creating clear documentation and flowcharts. The role requires expertise in Object-Oriented Software, Design Patterns, Finite State Machines, and multithreading with preemptive thread scheduling. You will utilize communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART. Preferred skills include experience in distributed embedded controls systems and proficiency in general purpose programming languages like C++ or C#.
Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for new products and system enhancements.
Implement new customer requirements and features into existing applications.
Maintain and improve the existing codebase by investigating and resolving identified problem areas.
Create clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code to demonstrate technical solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience; Master's with 3+ years; PhD; or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of Object-Oriented Software (OOS), Object Oriented Design (OOD), and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) including Design Patterns and Finite State Machines.
Knowledge of multithreading, including preemptive thread scheduling.
Knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and UART.
