As a Software Engineer, Rust, you will join a small, innovative team to solve complex real-world problems in target tracking and state estimation. You will architect, maintain, and evolve complex software systems, refactoring existing codebases to improve performance and scalability. Your daily responsibilities include prototyping and deploying state-of-the-art algorithms for multi-sensor data fusion, designing robust filters, and developing high-performance Rust software for real-time systems, simulations, and decision support tools. You will utilize Rust, Python, and big data pipelines while applying knowledge of linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes. The role focuses on extracting actionable insights from noisy sensor data, including radar and lidar, to provide situational awareness and tracking capabilities within a defense technology context.

What we're looking for
5+ years of professional software engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in mathematics, physics, engineering, or another technical field.
Advanced degree in a technical field (preferred).
At least 2+ years of experience working on a single codebase or product.
Demonstrated experience managing and evolving software architecture in production environments, including refactoring legacy systems and managing technical debt.
Proficiency in algorithm design, software development, and statistical modeling using Rust and Python.
Solid understanding of applied mathematics, including linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes.
Familiarity with big data pipelines, NoSQL databases, and efficient handling of large-scale sensor data.
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
