Software Engineer (Payments and Finance Engineering)

What you'll do

• Design and develop components of integrated, distributed systems for core financial capabilities.
• Lead the technical design and development of new products while navigating complex challenges.
• Translate business requirements into high-quality products that impact finance and accounting functions.
• Implement and support highly scalable services using Java or other JVM-based languages.
• Develop features based on an understanding of how payment and commerce transactions are processed.
• Build automated tools to improve productivity and consistency for global administrative operations.
• Write technical proposals to solve complex problems by researching specific domain requirements.
• Manage data storage across various technologies including SQL, NoSQL, Postgres, and MongoDB.

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience.
• 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable systems and services in Java or other JVM-based languages.
• 4 years of experience with different data store technologies including SQL and NoSQL.
• 2 years of experience in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• 2 years of experience in financial engineering involving knowledge of how payments/commerce transactions are processed for accounting impact.
• Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, and public cloud platforms like AWS or GCP (preferred).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes deployment (preferred).
• Ability to communicate thoughtfully, write engineering proposals, and solve complex problems (preferred).
