Software Engineer, Payments and Finance Engineering

What you'll do

• Design and develop components of integrated, distributed systems for core financial capabilities.
• Lead the technical design and development of new products while navigating complex, ambiguous challenges.
• Translate business requirements into high-quality software products that impact global operations.
• Build scalable services using Java or other JVM-based languages.
• Implement event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka.
• Manage data storage across various SQL and NoSQL technologies like Postgres and MongoDB.
• Develop automated tools to improve productivity and consistency for finance and accounting functions.
• Ensure system reliability, scale, and accuracy for high-stakes payment and commerce transactions.

What we're looking for

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience is required.
• 4 years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable systems in Java or other JVM-based languages.
• 4 years of experience with various data store technologies including SQL and NoSQL.
• 2 years of experience in Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and messaging technologies like Kafka.
• 2 years of experience in financial engineering regarding payment and commerce transaction processing.
• Experience with Postgres, MongoDB, and public cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience with deployment tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write engineering proposals and communicate complex technical designs to cross-functional partners.
