Software Engineer, Officer will join an agile scrum team to enhance and maintain Charles River IMS modules and components. The role involves analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and debugging software enhancements while providing engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support and development teams. Collaborating with Business Analysts and Product Managers, the engineer transforms complex business requirements into sustainable software solutions. Key responsibilities include participating in product architecture design, performing code reviews, writing unit and automation tests, and creating technical documentation for APIs. The candidate will utilize Java, C#, SQL, and JavaScript to build products within the investment management domain, specifically addressing problems in portfolio management, trading, compliance, post-trade, IBOR, or wealth management. Required skills include object-oriented programming, relational databases, scripting, and experience with agile methodologies to solve complex financial technology challenges.
Analyze, design, develop, test, and debug software enhancements within the Charles River business and technical domains.
Translate complex business requirements from stakeholders into sustainable software solutions.
Participate in the design of product architecture within the team's scope of responsibility.
Develop and implement software programs using Java, C#, SQL, JavaScript, or other relevant languages.
Provide technical insights and suggestions during peer code reviews.
Write unit and automation tests to ensure high-quality end products.

What we're looking for
A B.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or another technical field is required.
An MS degree is strongly preferred.
Candidates must have 2 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
Experience in financial services product delivery is preferred.
2 to 5 years of experience developing solutions for Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management is strongly desired.
At least 3 years of experience working with an Agile development methodology is strongly desired.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience with object-oriented programming, RDBMS, scripting, and other related software engineering languages.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate in a team environment.
