Software Engineer (L5), JavaScript Platform

What you'll do

• Define and evolve internal CLIs and SDKs for browser, backend, and library software categories.
• Own the core application development platform, including CI/CD workflows and supporting services.
• Lead efforts to improve platform observability and performance while optimizing existing solutions.
• Manage the monorepo and local development experience as shared, cross-category concerns.
• Own infrastructure and deployment integrations connecting the platform to the broader Netflix ecosystem.
• Partner with software teams to create cleaner, independent interfaces that increase developer autonomy.
• Validate changes to shared infrastructure and move release processes toward faster, more confident deploys.

What we're looking for

• Experience designing and operating CI/CD and release systems at real scale.
• Experience building pipelines, caching, incremental builds, and artifact management.
• Ability to design and operate production debugging and deployment safety systems.
• Skill in developing internal CLIs and SDKs for browser, backend, and library integrations.
• Ability to design and manage monorepo and local development experiences as shared concerns.
• Skill in making platforms more observable and performant through infrastructure optimization.
• Ability to turn technical ambiguity into clear requirements for team execution.
• Ability to lead cross-team alignment on shared interfaces and negotiate technical boundaries.
