JOB TITLE: Full Stack Software Engineer 5 - Eventing & Communications Platform As a Full Stack Software Engineer 5 - Eventing & Communications Platform within the Content & Business Products Engineering organization, you will build robust, scalable, and highly available platform products. You will develop both frontend widgets and backend services to power managed eventing and communications platforms that drive business workflows, deliver notifications, and facilitate real-time online collaboration for global content pipelines. Your daily work involves architecting microservices and high-scale asynchronous backend systems using Java, C#, or comparable object-oriented languages. You will also build complex user interfaces using HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and React. Key responsibilities include designing GraphQL and RESTful APIs, ensuring operational excellence through observability, and solving complex technical problems to optimize the content creation process from pitch to play.

What you'll do

  • Build and operate robust, scalable, and highly available platform products including frontend widgets and backend services.
  • Architect and develop highly-leveraged platforms using GraphQL/RESTful APIs and real-time asynchronous backend systems.
  • Design and implement microservices using object-oriented languages like Java or C# with a focus on performance and observability.
  • Develop complex user interfaces using HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React while maintaining a strong eye for UI/UX craft.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to manage scope, balance tradeoffs, and drive product delivery from ambiguous goals to launch.
  • Communicate complex technical and business concepts to engineers, product managers, and leadership through clear writing and design docs.
  • Take operational ownership by leading incident response, post-incident reviews, and driving reliability and on-call improvements.
  • Mentor peers and junior engineers to raise the technical bar and help build technical communities across the organization.

What we're looking for

  • Proficiency in architecting and developing full-stack platforms including GraphQL/RESTful APIs and embeddable UI components.
  • Solid backend expertise in architecting microservices using Java, C#, or comparable object-oriented languages.
  • Recent hands-on experience building complex user interfaces with HTML, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CSS with exposure to React.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with design, product, and engineering partners to drive delivery from ambiguous goals.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to engineers, product, and leadership through clear writing and design docs.
  • Track record of operational ownership by leading incident response and driving reliability and observability improvements.
  • Experience in architecting messaging buses, asynchronous data processing, and workflow orchestration (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts such as partitioning, idempotency, backpressure, and distributed tracing (preferred).
