As a Software Engineer III - UI / Experience Services Developer within the Consumer & Community Banking and J.P. Morgan Wealth Management teams, you will design and deliver secure, scalable technology products. Your daily work involves executing software solutions, creating production code, and implementing workflow orchestration, tool calling patterns, and guardrails for agent flows. You will utilize Java, SQL, and enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality and delivery speed. You must manage the full software development life cycle, producing architecture artifacts and debugging issues across UI and services. This role solves complex technical problems by integrating agentic capabilities into user journeys while ensuring operational stability and secure coding standards.

What you'll do

Develop and maintain high-quality production code for responsive UI components and Java-based experience services.
Implement agentic capabilities including workflow orchestration, tool calling patterns, and state management for LLM-driven flows.
Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring all design constraints are met during development.
Utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to generate code, refactor existing systems, and accelerate unit test creation.
Drive team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices and establish consistent validation standards for secure coding and peer reviews.
Debug issues across UI and services using SQL queries to perform root-cause analysis and validate data integrity.
Analyze large datasets to identify patterns and develop visualizations for the continuous improvement of software systems.

What we're looking for

3+ years of professional experience in UI development and experience services development.
Strong hands-on experience with Java for backend and RESTful service development.
Exposure to agentic capabilities and integrating LLM-driven workflows into applications.
Basic SQL knowledge for writing queries to validate data and troubleshoot defects.
Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, testing, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, agile methodologies, CI/CD, and application resiliency.
Machine Learning exposure (preferred).
