As a Software Engineer III - Automation Engineer within the Commercial and Investment Bank, you will join an agile team to design and deliver secure, scalable technology products. You are responsible for executing software solutions, troubleshooting complex technical problems, and creating high-quality production code. Your daily work involves developing architecture artifacts, maintaining algorithms, and producing visualizations from large datasets to drive system improvements. You will utilize a specific toolchain including Core Java, Selenium, Junit/TestNG, Cucumber, Soap UI, REST, API, Eclipse IDE, Maven, Jenkins, and IntelliJ. Additionally, you will leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools for code generation and refactoring while ensuring responsible AI use. You must manage test cases and defects using JIRA while applying knowledge of CI/CD, application resiliency, and security within the software development life cycle.
Design and develop secure, high-quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms.
Execute technical troubleshooting and build solutions for complex technical problems.
Use enterprise-authorized AI coding tools to generate, refactor, and test code.
Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
Analyze large datasets to create visualizations and reports for continuous system improvement.
Identify hidden patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
Create new automation frameworks as needed to support software development goals.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on automation experience with Core Java, Selenium, Junit/TestNG, Cucumber, Soap UI, REST, API, Eclipse IDE, Maven, Jenkins, and IntelliJ.
Experience creating new automation frameworks on an as-needed basis.
Experience working with Agile (Scrum) teams and using JIRA or similar tools for test case and defect management.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to create, validate, and refine outputs for correctness and security.
Understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency expectations.
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle, business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement.
Exposure to cloud and AI technologies (preferred); load testing using Jmeter or Blazemeter (preferred).
